I know, I know, you got worried sick. You didn’t receive your typical e-mail on Tuesday and you started thinking up the worst-case scenarios.
Did he die? Where’s Thanos? Should I re-download Instagram?
Okay, chillax.
For the past couple of days, I’ve been on the road, because I had to move to my new apartment in another country, so you know life has been pretty hectic.
Since I’ll be busy for the next few days setting everything up— bureaucratic nonsense and all that— I thought of sharing a small tip that might help you kickstart your social media detox journey today!
So here’s the deal.
You’re using all these social media apps on your phone, right?
You’ve downloaded Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc. and as soon as you get a notification or you’re bored you open up your phone and start this vicious cycle of mindlessly scrolling.
What do you think is the solution to this?
You either change your mindset—cutting this poisonous tree off its roots— or you change your phone— the environment the tree is growing.
Here’s what I want you to do.
Delete all your social media apps from your phone and start using them on your computer.
You’ll realize that it’s not as fun and that you’ll need way more steps to get that dopamine hit you’re craving. Through time you’ll realize that slowly you’ll stop feeding this instant gratification monster that’s living inside you.
Go delete those apps, and in one week comment on this post to let me know if it helped you or not.
See you soon ;)
